The Virginia Small Business Development Centers are a statewide network of 28 local Small Business Development Centers providing professional business counseling, training and information resources to help grow and strengthen small businesses in Virginia.

J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College (JSRCC) and John Tyler Community College (JTCC) are committed to providing the best workforce development services to the region in an effort to train the workforce of today and tomorrow. In order to better accomplish this task, both colleges have joined forces to create a new workforce development entity, the Community College Workforce Alliance (CCWA). The Crater Procurement Assistance Center (CPAC) assists Small, Disadvantaged, Women Owned, Minority, and Veteran Owned businesses that want to increase their opportunities in the Federal, State, and Local Government marketplace. In addition, they assist Prime Contractors to source qualified small businesses to act as subcontractors for government contracts.
