The Virginia Department of Business Assistance (VDBA) is pleased to announce Business Appreciation Week 2008. Governor Timothy M. Kaine has designated May 11-17, 2008 for the state and localities to reflect on Virginia businesses and the positive effect that they have on the economy of our great Commonwealth. This year's Business Appreciation Week focus, "The State of Small Business" recognizes and celebrates Virginia for being the Best State For Business.

2008 Virginia Small Business Awards
Seven individuals have been selected to receive awards by the US Small Business Administration at the annual Small Business Awards Luncheon to be held in Richmond on Friday, May 2, 2008, in observance of National Small Business Week.
The Greater Richmond Chamber and its Small Business Development Center welcomes this opportunity to celebrate the achievements of small to mid-size (SME) businesses by offering our congratulations to Shawn Boyer, CEO and the SnagAJob.com team for winning the United States Government Small Business Administration's (SBA) National Business Person of the Year Award. Snag A Job.Com exemplifies the impact SME businesses are having on our local, state and national economies. SME's make up 98% of all businesses in the USA. The recognition of SnagAJob.com began with winning the Greater Richmond Chamber's prestigious Impact Award for the SME business having the greatest impact on the Greater Richmond Region in 2007. Meet one-on-one with SBA Lenders to discuss your financing needs
SBA Express lenders can offer small business Loans and Lines of Credit from as little as $5,000 up to $500,000 with little paperwork and rapid turnaround time. Express loan programs have provided over $184.5 million of capital to Virginia small businesses since 2003.
Community Express-loans up to $50,000; no collateral required on loans of $25,000 or less, Technical assistance provided.
SBA Express-Loans and Lines of Credit up to $350,000
Patriot Express-Loans up to $500,000 for businesses owned by members of the military community and their spouces. SBA Patriot Express lenders have provided over $8.4 million to small businesses in our District since June, 2007.
